Sensor Fusion App: Privacy Policy Statement
This privacy policy governs your use of the software application Sensor Fusion app (“Application”) for mobile devices that was created by the Sensor Fusion group in the Division of Automatic Control, Linköping University. The Application is intended as an illustration of what sensor capabilities your smartphone or tablet have. You can watch graphs of the main sensors in real time, except for video, microphones. You can log data to file or stream data to a computer. The Application is bundled with a a Matlab interface which allows for on-line processing and filtering for prototyping and demo purposes.
User Provided Information
You do not have to register or surrender any information when you download the Application.
Automatically Collected Information
No information is collected by the Application unless explicitly requested by you as user. On request, the Application will collect information from the sensors in your mobile device but not store or communicate it anywhere for its own use. Only the sensors explicitly selected will be collected (inertial sensors, light, GPS, ...). If requested by the user of the Application, the information will be written to a log file of the users choice. The user may also request to send the information to a specified IP and port.
When you choose to view your GPS location in the map view, the Application uses the Google Maps API to do so. When doing so you may or may not share anonymized information through this API, depending on your configuration of the Google services.
If you do not want us to use your location for the purposes set forth above, you should simply not use the feature to show your position on the map and/or turn off the location services for the mobile application located in your account settings or in your mobile phone settings and/or within the mobile application.
As the Application does not collect any information, will not and cannot share your information with third parties.
What are my opt-out rights?
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information
No User Provided data nor any Automatically Collected Information is at any time retained.
Children
We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.
Security
We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. To ensure this, we do not collect or store any of your information for ourselves. However, make sure to pay attention to who you give log files and send sensor data.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy here and we cannot inform you via email or text message as we do not have access to that information. If we decide to start collect information we will also acquire your email address to notify you of this change of policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes. You can check the history of this policy by clicking here.
Your Consent
By using the Application, you are consenting to our collection but no retention of your sensor data as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
